Queens of The Stone Age Play New Song ‘Keep Your Eyes Peeled’ Live

Queens of The Stone Age Play New Song ‘Keep Your Eyes Peeled’, hearkening back to their earliest works.

Over the past few weeks, Queens Of The Stone Age have been leaking new tracks from their upcoming album ‘Like Clockwork.’ Last week the band played several songs at Studio Brussell’s Club 69 in Belgium, including ‘I Sat By The Ocean’ and ‘If I Had A Tail.’

Over the weekend another track has emerged and it may be the best of the bunch. ‘Keep Your Eyes Peeled‘ is a lumbering stoner rock jam, and the heaviest offering from the album thus far. Check it out below:

Like Clockwork‘ has had such a long build-up and an impressive list of studio guests and returning musicians (Dave Grohl, Nick Oliveri, Trent Reznor, Alex Turner, Jake Shears, Mark Lanegan, Brody Dalle, and Elton John) that the expectations for the album are through the roof.  It’s the band’s first new album since 2007’s “Era Vulgaris” and one of the most anticipated of 2013.

Singer, guitarist Josh Homme’s knack for wacky viral marketing has reached new heights in terms of creativity and  crypticness. The band has started a very cool website with a horror comic vibe, where you can hear song snippets from other songs like “I Appear Missing.” All playing over eerie animation by artist Boneface, whose style evokes the legendary work of Metal T-shirt and album cover legend Pushead.

The band has a busy year ahead, appearing on both the bills of Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival and The ACL Music Festival in Austin, TX, which will give them time to cement their new lineup.

And you can click here to hear the album version of the first single “My God Is The Sun.” I find it to be one of the lesser tracks IMHO. ‘Keep Your Eyes Peeled’ is more my style.

What do you think about the new QOTSA song?

And you can preorder “Like Clockwork” on iTunes below. It’ll be released via Matador Records on June 4th in the US and June 3rd in the UK.

  1. Keeping an open mind, but mixed emotions on all the stuff I’ve heard off the new album. This is better though, so agreed on that.
